The initial response to the IPL was like that of just another tournament which may or may not be successful in the long run. However, the BCCI had their plans to succeed. It was an enormous task to begin with and then to make it such a huge success is something amazing. This goes to show why the BCCI is the riches cricket Board in the world. I believe they owe their success to proper marketing of cricket in India, where it is followed not just like a game but as a religion.

The coming together of all international cricketers along with youngsters from India would definitely be like a life long experience for the budding cricketers. They would not only make money but also sharpen their skills to match them with the best in the world. I feels its great to share dressing rooms,grounds with your favourite sportsperson like Ricky Ponding, Macgrath, Hayden, Kallis, Jayasuriya, Murlidharn, Shoaib akhtar, Shane warne, Sachin Tendulakar is the greatest morale boosting tonic for budding cricketers. I am sure all these cricketers would go back with fond memories of this tournament, once it is over.

The advertising community may not have so many options available for them in building or promoting their brands and products. The kind of coverage this tournament is getting,they not only get to benefit in India but all over the world. It would be easy introduction for their products and brands in the world economic market. I am sure despite not many youngsters not knowing about the brands and products personally, they would be able to identify with the same when they come in actual contact with them. The easy introduction would help a great deal in promotion of products. Thus, the advertisers have nothing to lose despite their huge investments.

The franchisee or the so called team owners were shrewed enough to get their teams by bidding so high. I am sure everyone is mighty pleased because they not only know the economical viability of their so called business but are aware of the mileage they get through their teams. The immense interest and popularity the tournament has generated would keep BONANZAJP them happy till the end of their contracts. They are all wise businessmen so no one can raise a finger at their economic or business acumen. They are all here to make money through various sources and they would do it very soon to get huge profits later.

This tournament is a boon for the cricketers as well. They say a sportsperson has a very short active life keeping in mind the tremendous mental and physical pressures of performance to survive in this hugely competitive environment. If they are getting chance to make money which was not available to them earlier. Its a huge amount of money. Its a different matter that they were put to auction like a product. But after all its they would laugh all the way to their banks. Not only the young cricketers are getting the chance to make early money,play with the best,compare their skills,but the best part is the emergence of many budding heroes who have been noticed by their selectors.

Therefore, BCCI, deserve to be thanked by the all categories of cricketers, advertisers, franchisee and the print and electronic media. Everyone including the spectators have got their money’s worth. That’s why it is a WIN WIN situation for everyone. The project has tasted huge success and as we know “Nothing Succeeds like Success” so ICC beware of BCCI. It won’t be a bad idea to market cricket globally and learn it from the greatest sports marketers like BCCI. All other Sports bodies too can take a leaf out from them and make their sporting disciplines self sufficient. So, LONG LIVE THE BCCI.
